Hey guys,
does any of you guys know how to take the radio out i want to install something else in it place...

Pull off all the heater/air blower knobs; you'll find screws behind the two larger ones. Take those out, then you should be able to pull the trim piece out (the tabs hold it in there pretty tight so pull hard), take out the 4 screws that hold the radio in place. Done!

thanx..i was just thinking of taking the little cubby hole out then yanking the trim piece...but i guess i was wrong...thanx again for the help...i could have Fd my trim up...

Yeah, the cubbyhole comes out separately by undoing the two screws on it. FYI you can install a DIN-sized unit (CD changer, receiver, etc.) there using the Mitsubishi CD changer install kit, part number MZ598263EX (http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/cart/?id=0&pn=MZ598263EX).

ok thanx...im going to install a multi-media head unit in its place...its a high end one but im looking into sellingit if you know anyone who wants one...it doesnt play DVD cuz it a but you can add a DVD,game console, or Navi to the brain and it will play it also you can add an XM module to it also....its for a competition thats why its not built in..this is very a high end unit...

if i was to remove the stock deck and just replace it with an aftermarket one i dont need to worry about anything right? just remove the panel and switch decks? we dont have a stock amp or anything do we..?

You will need a wiring harness. Around 10$ at your local Frys.

yeah i was told i needed one, guess i ll be going to frys this weekend $10 isnt that bad. are they car specific or just harnesses in general?

hmm i think i ll be going to davis around the 11th if youre gonna be anywhere near there..if not i think i cant make a little trip out there. do you do installs?

I used a Lancer wiring harness since that is all that Frys had. But luckily, it worked just fine.

I used a 2nd-gen DSM harness for mine, fits perfectly as well.
