Everytime i move my car in the morning(never warm up the car) to park it across the street i always hear whinning noise when i have it in first gear or reverse and the clutch is halfway and a lil gas just to keep it moving. Could it be my transmission or could be it my transfer case?..It always happen when the engine is still cold

maybe its your engine crying cuz the oils so cold and thick?
i dunno, i don't let my car warm up much, but if it made noises from being cold, i would.
if it's any consolation, my clutch gives me hell till it's warm, but it only warms from driving, not idleing :(

1st gear and reverse are straight cut gears and make a whining noise, maybe that is what you're hearing?

From the trannies I've taken apart, I've only seen reverse gears straight cut.

It appears I was wrong. :) 1st gear always sounds louder than the rest in my car for some reason.

I only have 15k and my whines along with the rpms. I can sit there and give it a little rev and it will whine along with it.
