So obviously I know the whole deal that putting HIDs in a nonHID evo is a bi*ch. SO its easier to stick to 9006 bulbs. My question is, why would people buy the rebased 9006 bulbs from HIDexpert if they can go buy a 9006 HID kit from ebay? The rebased bulbs are what seem to be what people are using but is anyone on here running an aftermarket 9006-only HID kit?? Ive done my searching and havnt found my answers so no flaming :p

ive got mine from HIDbuy.com, direct plug/play. mounted the ballast where the "stock ballast" mounts under the headlamps, screws right in.

ebay hid system are shiet. they have a 3 yr warranty on them but 2 yrs after the company started they close down and open up under a new name selling the same system. most aftermarket ebay kit burn out after 3 years. stick to a company that u trust

Do you still lose your high beams or did these companies get that all sorted out?

WOW, real nice man! I shouldnt of said eBay, what I pretty much said was "any" other company that has 9006 HID kits. Iono why I refered to ebay. HIDbuy.com isnt working for me, says server aint thurr. I'll try again later though

yeah the kit i got works great, the cables/wires have plenty of length, and the ballasts mounts directly to the stock mounting pounts. so no drilling and digging for a spot. and yes all my lights work, except fogs, since i never got them...

The reason why I reccomend and would only use the HIDexpert.com kit is

1) They use OEM Phillips bulbs
2) They use OEM Denso ballasts (same as used in ALL toyota, lexus, and newer land rovers). These denso ballasts are very rugged, low profile, water proof, and fit under the light very nicely (where the OEM ballast would be)
3) They are cheaper than other places using the same components
4) A lot of the stuff on ebay is crap

Save yourself future headache, and spend a few bucks extra on the HIDexpert.com kit

HIDbuy.com isnt working. Do you have an email of the company owner or anything like that? Or if they changed sites/name?

Well, I did a retrofit where i replaced the halogen projector and replaced them with HID projo's from an VIII. Looks much better and there is the cool blue cutoff line.

I'll post some pics later if you want.
