View Full Version : 349whp EcuFlash Map

Since my personal EVO has turned into a sort of testbed, I figured I would post up my current EcuFlash map that makes 349whp.

There are some maps I am not showing but the overall tune is here.

As usual, don't copy it and expect your car to run well, I'm not responsible for it's use on anything other than my own personal EVO. ;)

There are some big changes here and some subtle changes that some might actually miss at first glance. :)

Am I crazy for posting this? Yea maybe, but hey what the hell. I'm all for sparking conversation. :)

That is the transition from closed to open loop fueling. In simpler terms, from partial throttle to WOT. This is a 100 octane map.

I'm new to this so excuse the newb questions. Just wondering is there any target timing in degrees you are looking for? And is there any knock on this 100 octane tune? Thanks!

so your "O RLY Boost" comes on at 2500 rpms? O RLY?

The car hits 3* at 3500 and 20*-21* up top.

Couple stray 1-2 knock sums every once and awhile. Usually on different tanks of gas as I am using pump 100.

Octane number hasn't dipped yet.

Different tuning philosophies...my interpretation of high timing = ~20*

On 9's, sure. Remember this is a 8 on 100 octane.

I start ramping the timing up as the load drops, around 6000-6500. It's just the natural way to do it for me with the 4G63 and it responds well. It works and it's not that aggressive for my car. It has always taken timing like that really well. I've pushed it to 24 before with no ill effects either but that's a tad aggressive for me, and didn't really gain much, so I knew it didn't really need it.

21 at 7500 on a EVO 8 is hardly aggressive to me on 100 octane. The car just doesn't have that much load up there so the higher timing fills in the powerband better.

lookin good, i had toyed with the idea of changing the timing and fuel tables for the extra levels of precision, but didn't want to totally screw up the car yet :)

obviously your car runs fine even without the extra timing tables down low, maybe i'll give it a shot. This has been one of my biggest annoyances with flashing the stock map, and biggest draw to ECU+. But i (and my wallet) like your way better :P

lol @ the O RLY 8)

is it 1281 and 1285 for IX's and 1681 and 1685 for VIII's? or someone was saying that they used 1285 on their 05 and it worked... PM me if you'd prefer

P.S. if you have no idea what i'm talking about i'll PM a more in depth question

VIII - 1685 / 1681

p.s. check the old fixed rom i sent to you back in dec/jan if you want to confirm ;)

The 05's are different than the 03's. I am on a mac currently and don't know the ID's off the top of my head. I can repost later.

I believe the 05's are the same as the 06's. But I could be remembering wrong.

Good catch...double checked my database:

03 - 1685 / 1681
05/06 - 1285 / 1281

ya that was where i looked first. Looks like the original ones you sent me were 1680/1682...:?

i have had so many issues with my map lately (values literally changing themselves - for example RPM tables would randomly change to somewhere in the 11000 range) i think i might just play with a bone stock map, and flash that over. Since this one had the ecutek flash on it, it seems to be so inconsistant :(

I would recommend that. I have had problems with EcuTek maps as well and I just reflash them with a non-EcuTek map.

I have a feeling, that some of my "issues" as far as EGT's etc have to do with this, i'll just pull out the things i need like injector map and O RLY? :P maps and start from scratch. Thanks for the input. Maybe i'll give a shot @ doing something similar with the timing scaling.

Did you choose the 3750, 4250, and 6750, because those are areas that have greater importance (peak tq and hp areas) and wanted more control? Gonna see what's going on with my car this weekend flash over a fresh slate

dumb question, but which revision should i run? I am currently running 94170014, and have 96940011 (05's i think?), Matz's 94170008, and a fresh 94170014.

My guess is stick with what i have since (as far as i know) it is the most updated revision for 03's? And i can't run an 05 map i assume?

Edit: sorry for the thread jack  uhhh nice maps!

i didn't copy it to anything except my own? if you changed your evo7base then it would effect even my old ROM and change it to the 85/81 since...well they both run off the same database, unless you have backed them up and run a handful of databases. I only have 2 databases.

Unless it has different settings depending on the ROM revision number (more likely since 05's and 03's have same evo7base but different values for the 12xx and 16xx). Even still, if you changed any of the 16xx on any other 03 maps it would effect my old one. All i can tell you is what i saw when i edited the map definition and saw the address. It's only been the map you had sent...

i run 1 database....separate entries for different rom revisions entirely (i dont map out to the evo base, only the rom def), including my special ones. your xml files dictate what address are mapped where (e.g., if u don't have the map definitions for ipw, you won't see it but it will be embedded in the rom, so if you mapped it improperly in ur ecuflash, who knows.).

1683 is the standard antilag setting, i dont change it...i disable lean spool essentially so u get 1 point afr richer.
