Does anyone know what kind of fuel options are available are laguna seca... I just moved in about 5 miles down the road, had my evo shipped over from the east coast and would like to try to stay away from the 91 octane if possible. I guess i would be able to fill up with a gallon of race gas, then fill it up with normal 91 pump gas?

I don't think just anyone can buy fuel there. I think you have to be in a club or know somebody. Where you live man? What you drivin? I never see evos over here.

this post (http://www.norcalevo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=62) has some good info and charts for mixxing 91 with 100 to get whatever octane you want(between 91 and 100 obviosly)

I was thinking today that when I hit 100,000 miles in my evo I will have spent about $16,000 in gas, so long as prices dont keep going up.

I am living in the torro park area... i havent driven the car all that much here yet as it was being shipped from south carolina, but its a rally red GSR with alot of mods coming real quick hopefully :D

I kinda figured you had to belong to some kind of club or something, my girlfreinds aunt is the assistant director over there though.... i am going to ask her about it.

I guess one option would be to either pay a fee.. or use whatever connections i have over there to fill a few tanks up with race gas... then add these tanks in when i get fueled up.

try out dothseth racing in salinas since thats where everybody go for 100oct. buying at laguna eca is okay as longas their is an event since the pumps will be open just as long as you have the right container.but if they are closed since there is no event you might have to know somebody there to get you some ;)

maybe we should meet up around thae are also since there are a few evo owners there that i know besides evo grim.maybe a scenic drive along the coast also would be good :)

ok i found the address for the place to get them.

sweet... that sounds good, im down for whatever, especially being new to the area. I have seen a total of 3 evos in the area since i have been here, a rally red at driscolls in watsonville, and a bby and silver cruising around in north salinas. we need to represent down here.

I see a group of 6 or so WRX and STIs leaving LS everyday at around 4 oclock but no evos.

and thanks for the information about dothseth racing.. im guessing they also do installs there?

If your going to be mixing 100 oct w/ 91 oct, to get ~93 oct will require 4 gallons of 100 + 13 gallons of 91 oct. 94 oct requires 6/11 gallon mixture.

Depends on the particular plane of course but the fuel you're thinking about is something like 114 octane--LEADED so don't even think about putting that stuff in your car. :)

Xylene is 117 oct, Toulene is 114 oct. I just need to find a painters supply company that will sell bulk Toulene or Xylene, I haven't priced it in a while so I'm not sure of the cost per gallon.

17 gallon tank in Evo

15 gal 91 oct + 2 gal Xylene = 94.1 oct
15.5 gal 91 oct + 1.5 gal Xylene = 93.3 oct

14.5 gal 91 oct + 2.5 gal Toulene = 94.4 oct
15.5 gal 91 oct + 1.5 gal Toulene = 93.0 oct

I think the Union 76 is selling 100 oct for $4.79 gal, at least it was the last time I was there.

sounds like xylene is the way to go... you could store up a few gallon containers and be set for awhile.

is union 76 near salinas? I have no clue where anything is remember :D that sounds like a good price.

were you playing golf at corall grim? i was there on sunday.

the 76 station that sells 100 oct is in campbell which is about 45-1hr away but i heard that they stopped selling it there.

i talked to the 76 station here in aptos that i deliver to said they could order a 55 gallon drum as long as you have your own container so they wont do a core charge.

Marcel, do you mean the one at Almaden Expy and Foxworthy? They still have 100 octane as of a couple weeks ago.

Iv spotted 92 octane.. and confirmed that it is indeed what the label says on river road in salinas/spreckles, just past Las Palmas Blvd.

In at least one case it was because they never updated their stickers. I'm skeptical they have 92 because they must get gas from the same distributors as everybody else, and if that were the case there'd be 92 all over the place. Best thing to do is ask the manager there, I guess. :?

well i had asked the girl if they were new stickers, the pumps were old but everything was brand new.. including new 92 octane buttons.

Im no petro expert, but i am not so sure that the gas trucks carry a certain octane fuel.. wouldnt it make more sense to have one tank full of high octane fuel that the dilute? anybody know how this works?

I was over there to fill up a propane tank, my girlfreind grew up right across the street from there. Im the next exit south though heading toward monterey, portola road.
