woot, woot! just scored some low, low mileage bridgestone potenza re-070 from an sti owner. bought four tires for under $450 . just wondering if the width of the re-070 tires be the same as the 235/45/17 advans. like the falken azenis i dunno if the width would be one size bigger. anybody care to chime in on this?

the potenza that they have is a mil shorter compared to our advans since the sti runs 225/45/17.it will fit easily on the stockers or the rota's and i think the side wall would be a little stiffer since the tires would be spread more on the rims. i think ;)

as a former STI owner, the RE-070 is not a bad tire at all. They hold up in the heat pretty well and don't get greasy like the Falkin Azenis sports do.

They will be just as loud if not louder than the falkins, due to the large tread block design.

Still, the grip out of these tires is amazing and very predictable.

do these tires have the same tread wear as the a046?

I don't remember, but it's probably about the same.

i have the a032r hard compound, it will wear a little better then the soft compound at the expense of grep. even w/ the hard compound the a032r will still wear quicker then a046 and time will tell. many people suggest heat cycle them b4 hammering on them at the track will also prolong the life of these tires. also, a032r is a little noisier, it has a humming sound around 40mph, but they do grep better, the sidewall is stiff and they are pretty light, around 25lb for a 245 sized tire. for less then 200 a pop for a 245 sized tire, i think they are a good alternative to the stock a046.
