So I got a statte ref ticket like a week ago. I was lookin at the ticket and noticed he wrote down eclipse instead of evolution. He obviously needs to brush up on his f&f stuff but anyway is there anyway I can use this to my advantage?

If he has your VIN and Lic. Plate, I'd imagine no.... Dont quote me on it though. Somebody chime in?

This reminds me of when I got a ticket at San Ramon skatepark for skating without a helmet and the ticket said that I was black! If a cop can't tell between a Filipino and a black then they can't tell the difference between an Evo or a DSM.

haha, his first comment was " what year is this car"

my answer "2005"

he walks away, and returns with the ticket.

didnt even ask to see my insurance/reg....

wanted to fight it in court. but i didnt have the time/effort, and aslo figured it would be worse if they fixed the ticket in court and have some other bs tagged onto it. so i just paid the fine...

now when i think about it, i should have went to court with it. :?

You could have fought the ticket (contest) it through the mail. Instead of appearing you could have sent a declaration, its like a statement, which outlines your not guilty plea. Most of the time they drop the ticket because of how long of a process it takes via standard mail.

Heres one for the books

Parking ticket at a local community college

Car: 93 Mazda RX-7 [FDS3]
Ticket: Acura NSX I forget what year they put

It wasnt my car but a friend of mines. He forgot to switch out his parking permit and got a ticket. He contested the ticket saying it wasnt his car, and viola didnt have to pay. HEHE

Back on topic: is there anything you can do to make it work to your advantage?

Maybe. You can take it court and use it as grounds for incompetence. Afterall, if your car is clearly marked as an Evo and he got it wrong, perhaps he got everything else wrong too?

As far as using it as grounds to throw out the citation because of improper paperwork. Won't work here. The court and officer have a legal right to amend the ticket they wrote.
