I have a F1 Spec HID 6000k and one of my bulb in the passenger is not working. I havent checked what is wrng with it but i need to ask this Q's..

1.Can you buy a replacement bulb seperate or pair? (if my bulb is broken)
2. Can you buy a diff brand of bulb to replace the f1 spec?
3. What bulb is good and how much?
4. Should i get the 6000k again or better?

Thanks...

1.Â* HID bulbs can only be bought in pairs.Â* I have asked retailers and they only sell in pairs.Â*

2.Â* "F1 Spec" is that the name brand?Â* It doesn't matter what brand you go with, what matters is the type of bulb like H11, 9004, 9005,Â* Â* Â* Â* Â*9006, D2S, D2R etc...

3.Â* I read somewhere that 8000k are the brightest and anything above that is just for the color.

4.Â* It's ur choice...

pay attention to what wattage of bulb.... not just the kalvin (ie, 6000 80000 etc) Try to pick up a 55 watt bulb and not the standard 35watt.

And people will argue this against me but lower the kalvin (4000, 5000k, even 6000k) are the brightest in light output.... the higher the kalvin (8000k, 10000k) its mostly color. Good Luck

Marlon, why dont you just call the guys @ F1 Spec, my buddy owns the shop and all my friends work there.

Plus if its still within 2 years and you have reciept it should still be under warranty since their bulbs come with a 2 yr warranty.

8000k is NOT the brightest. I had 8000k fogs on the BMW before. You can't see shit with those. 5000k is actually the best all around. Nice and white with just a little bit of color. Not hella blue and ricey looking with a ton of glare.

Yeah. I think 5000k-6000k are the brightest.... above that, it turns blueish/purple and doesn't put out as much light. Anything under 5000k however will begin to become more yelllow and also not put out as much light. Most cars that come stock with HID's usually come with 6000k I think.

Well, actually the lower the kelvin temperature, the more light output. Factory HID are at 4300K, which are very white with a bit of yellow. If you want absolutely the brightest, then go with 3000K yellows :P, it will be similar to those ALMS race car uses.
If you want a nice white with a bit of blue, go with 5000k or 6000k.

4300k is the brightest, yet 5000k looks the best. You SHOULD buy them in a pair, because different batches of bulbs show a different color. HID bulbs also need to be broken in. If you buy just one bulb, the odds are that the color between the two are a bit off.

Marlon, I'd suggest you to pick up some Philip bulbs. Look through hidplanet website and see if there are any sales going on.

4300K is brightest which is OEM spec and you can buy single bulbs from companies but watch out because diff wattage can fuck with the output so one side will look diffrent (color and brightness) even though you get the same whatever ti was 6K I think

yeah 4300k-5000k is going to be the brightest and have the best contrast, but the human eye reacts better to a more yellowish color and you get less glare/reflection coming back from a yellow light as well...

check out hidplanet.com

has some very cool stuff on it. like the washer mod(spaces the projector dome out and you can get a very large distinct cutoff with all kinds of crazy colors)

Ballasts usually go out before the bulbs do. The korean made HID kits are notorious for having shitty ballasts.
