I read alot about these today, but mostly on EVOM so you know....wanting to get local guys opinions, I hate that lil openeing on the EVO MAF so its seems like a good thing to use a 3.5" GM straight thru MAF intead, I know the DSM guys used this setup alot, just couldnt find anything as to the gotcha's for the EVO. I would never want to VTA my BOV, and I also spray meth so I dont think I could use it at the throttle body in the UICP (correct me if Im wrong) since i think spray methanol on it would be "bad". But as far as improving spool and power, how good are these for the EVO on a stock ecuflashed ecu?

The stock MAF isn't really a huge restriction until biggie turbos and lots of flow. In my opinion it isn't worth the hassle and would keep the stock MAF as long as possible.

They are getting the GM MAF working with the stock ecu without the translator too. It still has some bugs but will probably be a smooth transition soon. I would wait and see how that pans out as well.

The DSM 1G MAF was very very restrictive and would max out HZ wise quickly with more flow. That is why you see alot of DSM guys moving to the GM MAF or retrofitting the 2G MAF which is very much like the Evo MAF.

Interesting, I met an Evo driver at the SCCA event today that had a 1G DSM and said the exact same thing.

LOL, good lord thats ridiculously small. WOW

I still think its stupid that ours isnt a nice big circle like the GM, but relative to that....i see mitsu has come a long way...

Yea the 2g MAF was a popular mod on the 1g's
