I am doing a clutch and was curious what people recomened on what kind of fluid to fill it my tranny and transfer case. Should I just use OE or another manufacture and where can I get the fluids at?

I have a 6 speed and ACD.

I recommend OEM fluids for the trans on a street car. Especially on the 6spd.
Rear diff you can use redline 75-90 or OEM. TC I recommend OEM or redline shockproof heavy.

Thanks for the info. Mitsubishi (stealership) only sells the Mitsubishi Limited Slip Differential by the liter. :(

Use OE fluids , specially on a 6 speed.

I used OEM fluids for the diff and transfer case. I used Mopar 75w-85 Gl-4 tranny oil in my 6spd. Super diaqueen is only sold in like 4 liter cans, so you only have enough to once fill the 6 spd once because it takes 2.3 quarts.

I called Mitsubishi for DIA QUEEN it's $22.88 per quart (transmission) and $57.04 per liter for Mitsubishi Limited Slip Differential Fluid (transfer case).

Make sure you get the correct fluid for the 6spd as the 5spd and 6spd fluids are different.

Bryan,

What fluid do you recommend for the 5speed transmissions? I used BG Synchroshift II and it's not that smooth. Stock fluid seemed better. BG seems thin to me because during cold conditions (SF mornings) it's so freakin' notchy.

Is there a difference in the fluid recommended for someone with ACD or w/o? I just filled up my 03 with 75W90 in the rear, shockproof heavy in the tcase, and mt-90/mtl mix in the tranny. There is a weird shuddering i get at low speeds when making hard turns...i.e. right hand turns etc. It could be my alignment, but seems like it started after the fluid change...

You put the wrong fluid in the rear diff, you need the stuff with friction modifier. Did you use redline 75w90NS? Use the non NS redline 75w90

kit says "no i did not use the NS stuff, just the regular 75-90."

His question is more about the T-case.. wondering if its ok to put heavywt. rdline shockproof in a NON-ACD equipped evo 8.

TIA

no one?? come on some1's gotta know. I wanna do this too. My t-case started whining a lil bit... dropped the fluid and voila! No fluid!! :). not. So i put in RDLN 75W-90 and i didnt stop the whine. hoping some shockproof will keep it alive :(
