On Thursday, I will have a HKS air filter, Tanabe 2.75" DP, 3" test pipe, GReddy Evo2, Walbro fuel pump installed, followed by a tune at GST. What's after that on the IX?

you could always add a turbo outlet/02 housing for better flow before you get that tune and can upgrade the hot side on the turbo hahah or are you looking into appearance stuff now?

+1 on the turbo outlet. also injectors to be safe

Nah, no appearance.. no suspension mods yet either. Just going all power for now. :p Is the next step to upgrade turbo and o2 housing?

Edit: Boost pill will be installed with the tune on Thurs. I was thinking about LICP but I haven't been able to find one yet, and I heard that I don't need injectors until after 350whp?

Editx2: What is a "turbo outlet?"

well it depends...you can go the mild way w/ a LICP, UICP, Injectors, O2 housing

or go a little crazy with "mild way" plus cams, bigger turbo, intercooler, more efficient radiator!

just my 2 pennies if you're talking about power mods!

but be sure to let us know how you do!!!

Of course I'll let you guys know. I wouldn't have gotten all these mods if you guys didn't give me opinions on it a few weeks ago. I've only had the car for a bit over a month and I'm already modding.. lol. Damn, the modding bug bit me pretty hard.

Turbo outlet=02 housing
LICP=nisei
injectors=you need them past 300whp if not a bit earlier

IXs love boost, id get a 100oct tune if anything

I can't do an 100octane tune.. 100octane is like $5.50 a gallon. I daily drive my Evo.

I got a 91 and 100 octane tune from Bryan and I use a laptop to switch between the two tunes. I would also recomoned getting the 100 octane tune if you can.

I usually recommend injector upgrade to Evo 9 owners with TBE with no cat and ECU-boost if you want 100% power potential.

Stock injectors on the 9 usually come very close or do max out with those mods as the 9's flow a bit more than the 8's. The 93 octane guys can usually get away with stock injectors for a bit longer as their 93 octane allows for a bit leaner fuel mixture which gives the stock injectors some more room to play.

The car can be tuned without injectors but I usually tune in a little less boost to keep the injector duty cycles safer.

Any special deals on injectors, Bryan? I just called GST and I'm gonna go in a bit early to get a fuel pump on Thursday.

o2 housing is a PITA to install tho, and if your planning on going with bigger turbo, might as well not get it since it'll just become obsolete, just see how you do thursday, so many you wont need injectors....unlike me thinking i'd hit 300whp, and installed injectors before getting tuned, and then not even getting close to 300whp is kinda like waste of money....maybe you'll get lucky and have a factory freak

i think you should get a LICP though, easy to install and helps with spool up

Haha, yeah, I'll see you at SE early in the morning, then we can have lunch and hit up GST afterwards for the tune.

The weird thing about this is I have a IX and everyone on evolutionm says I just need a 255 to run more boost and on here everyones saying injectors and 255. Im lost, nice numbers btw

First off, it's EvoM. Most people run 93 octane there and MBC's.

Here in 91 octane end ecu-boost land, we have to run richer AFR's and on general we hold more boost up top because of ecu-boost. I have many data-logs of 100% IDC's.

Don't listen to the Warratalon & Buschur fanboys on EVOM. That place is worse than Honda-Tech forums.
