Hey guys/gals. I was wondering why alot of these rims (Enkei,GramLite,Advan etc) doesn't come or not even having a center cap/cover. Is this the new "thing" with these kind of light weight rims? In my opinion, it's not good having the center open like that because you can get alot of crap in the wheel bearings which is not good.

I asked a buddy who has a set of gram lights why he didn't put on his center caps and he told me he didn't buy them because a set would have costed $120.

OEM ones: part number MR133768 (http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/cart/?id=0&pn=MR133768), $3.92 each from MitsubishiParts.net--sounds reasonable to me. Don't know if there's a "standard" size for them though so you may not be able to use them on other wheels.

the center cap for certain rims will not fit... like the rotas the center is 2.5 inches and when you install the rim, you will need a center cap that is like a hat so it will clear the bolt...

When driving in extreme condition (i.e. track racing), it is possible that the center caps pop out by itself. Because of that, it is better off to start without the caps.

That said, I believe some aftermarket rim makers like volks and 5 zigen does make their own center cap, however like marksae said, they are super expensive.

Yes they do, not gunmetal tho. Here's a couple related links for your info:

Hope that helps :)

Ya for sanctioned racing events you cannot run centercaps for above said reason. Therefore when looking at a "truly" motorsports bred wheel you will find that centercaps are an option or not available at all. Many among the optional list, all volks minus the LE's and luxuries, enke rpf1, etc...

I like the no cap look. I think i've become extremely accustomed to it. I don't mind it at all.
