I have everything hooked up, and the timer is working great. However, I tapped into the rpm sensor wire and speed sensor wire connecting to the ECU. The rpm mode is working flawlessly, but the speed mode is not picking up speedometer readings. The timer just says 0 mph all the time.
I double checked the connections and made sure I tapped into the proper wires following this guide,

Slot 86 is the speed sensor wire and I double checked it with RRE's diagram: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/...O-ecuwiring.htm , but I just cannot seem to get the #@$@ing thing to show speed. :bandhead:

Anyone have some suggestions??

Don't know if it's any help, but I tapped the speed sense wire for my nav system and it works perfectly. http://www.norcalevo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=12951#12951

Hmm.. That makes me nervous. The wire I tapped into coming right out of the ECU was not black and yellow. So if I am reading the diamgram correctly, the speed sensor wire that you tapped into was right behind the center console. correct?

I imagine the speed sense signal gets sent to various places; I just thought I'd mention one that I know works. I tapped it at a connector going to the instrument cluster, but tapping at other places is probably okay as well. The "yellow" part of black-yellow was very faint for me; mostly the wire looked black with just hint of a yellow stripe on it. Of course I identified it by its pin location--not the wire colour.

My memory is a bit hazy but if I recall correctly, removing the center console allowed easy access to the connector C-124.

How did you tap the wire? Scotch lock? Manual splice & solder? Did you verify you had a good electrical connection off the splice/lock?

I used a scotch lock. I will pull it apart tonight and double check the connection.
