I'm sure many have seen this already, and I checked here on NCE and there was nothing. I love how good it looks in the front but I would leave the rear as it is now on my VIII and not do the Evo X rear they did.

My most important question is, does anyone know any fabricators that are good enough to pull off the front of the car's VIII-X conversion? What might it cost for a custom job like this?

And what are your opinions of the conversion?

Don't care for the Dodge 3/4 tonne pickup style front end, but I do like the rear fender flares...

You and me both wanna know.....I'm making some calls tomorrow. I'll post up what I get quoted and from where.

I'm gonna call West Coast Customs. They do reguar peoples cars to, but I bet it'd be VERY expensive with them.

Maybe they plan on pulling some molds off that 1-off custom kit..
That way they can offer a X conversion kit w/Hood,healights,fenders,bumper,flares
Who's car/shop is that?

^^I wish I knew.....I couldn't find anymore info on it. I'm pretty sure it's not local though.

And DD, I hope it's not 5k.....BTW, what's kaa? I'm not up on abbreviations 'round these parts.

^Damn Russians, always 1 step ahead.

I called local shops.......Nothing.

I called West Coast Customs, talked to 'Corie' who I sent an e-mail to of the work. He's going to talk to someone and get back to me on a ballpark estimate. I might need to take a 6 hour drive to the city of Corona!

I was being sarcastic about the price, but if it is from Russia...then it's probably closer to the truth.
As far as kaa goes...you've never been to Boston I take it...They for some reason can't pronounce "r 's"...so car...sounds like kaa. Â*I've been there and thought they were joking around, until I realized everyone didn't pronounce their "r 's"...
Watch Good Will hunting...or whatever retarded movie that was with Matt Damon in it, as he played a smart kid...and was a janitor too...

^Haha

I went to Ohio for 6 months when I was a little younger and I always said things like "It's hella cold", or "Daaamn, that's HEEEEELLLLLLAA big".

You know, with the emphasis on hella where the longer you hold the 'L', the bigger the item your describing is. I love California.

Hahahaa, Your probably right.

Question, how are all the aftermarket bodykits made now? Does it really cost that much to make a mold?

AWDrift
12-01-2007, 11:51 AM
^ if you mean material, most are made from urethane and fiberglass

Yup it cost a lot of money to make a mold. Fender flares for my old skul corolla alone costs $350 a pair if the mold was made from scratch. I mean a custom made mold.

Where'd you get them done at? If you don't mind me asking.

.....It's very hard to find these people around here.

I also got a quote from a shop, the cost of doing the conversion? $15,000. No offense to them, but does this sound right?

from WCC? well, they do quality work and to do all that conversion is hard labor and time consuming, so it may sound too high of a price but i think it's just right.
