Hey everyone. I posted this on evolutionm.net but new messages are generated so quickly, I dunno if I'll get a response:
I purchased a used 2003 Evo that supposedly had a non-factory clutch replacement. When I slowly release the clutch at 1st and 2nd gears, there's a loud groaning noise that's emitted. I'm not sure where the sound comes from, but it seems to come from the engine bay. If I quickly release the clutch at 1st and 2nd gears, I don't get the groaning sound. Also, any other gear (including reverse) will not result in the sound.
Oh, I also noticed that the sound became more common after a clutch adjustment that I had done at WORKS on Saturday.
Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of this and whether it should be of concern to me?
Thanks.
Sam
