Only thing i dont liked is > 35mm equivalent 36-432mm, no wide angle range.

which means tough to take pics on group pics indoors.

I know there is one made for it (lens) but the lady helping me was not knowledgable at all.....plus I was on the clock.....so I said f it I will get one later.

SLR is the only way to go if you want to learn how to take better pics.

some people just want a cheaper alternative, and a lot of times point and shoots will generate excellent pictures (especially under low iso conditions)

nothing terribly impressive out and I dont have the time to sort through hundred of pics to shape it like I want. simple and effective, im no professional.

good reason. i go back to my previous point and shoot for small group functions (themeparks, dinners, etc.)

i say go with a slr, i just got my d40 in the mail with a 55-200m spare lens, next upgrade is fish eye hahahhaha
