Sorry to hear/see that man. A freind of mine wrecked his gt mustang a while back, like the whole hood was folded, and there was fluids sprayed out everywhere, the bumber was screwed, and basically the whole front in was smashed up. He took it to Evylen Auto Body (in sunnyvale) and they made it look good as new. I don't really know them, so I can't get you a deal, but just letting you know they did a good job. Of course, if I were you, I'd want someone with experience with evos. Good luck though.

wow.. jerrold! Sorry to hear your little incident. What happened?

How's the suspension? By the looks from this pix, looks like you may have bent something.

Yikes. Same thing happened to me about 5 years ago with my then brand-new Civic. Drove down to L.A., hung out with some friends, and on the way back, spaced out and went off 101 near Paso Robles (a town I'd care never to see again). Luckily there wasn't anything solid for me to run into, just some bushes that banged up the rear fender a bit, and I blew 2 tires on the "curb" at the edge of the road. Anyway that taught me to be real careful about (i.e. avoid) driving tired.

Look at it this way, could've been much worse. Again, I'm glad you're okay. And get some rest! ;)

on the headlights, purchase the items that you need (like MR headlights) and when the body shop receive's the check from the insurance they should be able to refund you for it. Since you provide for parts (which most likely they will only pay the damage head light and not both) which is the housing only, unless the HID system got damage.
same goes for the other parts (as long as you provided them with parts they shouldnt charge you and refund you the money obtain from the insurance)
make sure you talk to the body shop about it so they know not to order certain parts for the car. It shouldnt be a problem, good luck with fixing your car and sorry to see that. :(

one oem headlight housing set costs $900+, an mr headlight set (2) costs $699. yeah, the hid got damaged and the back housing is in pieces.

from what i understand just the oem housing (not complete assembly w/out the HID's) are 399.00 each
as for the MR headlights which they sell by the pair is 699.00
now if you are replacing the HID system its near 1000.00

the reason i know is because i went through what you did, some one damage or scratch the lense (not as bad as you or near as bad as how you damage was) one of my oem headlight housing. So the insurance or bodyshop cost was 399.00 each (once again with out the HID's)

What about going with the Evo RS (non-HID) headlights? If you're not that partial to HID you can save a bunch of weight (20lbs?) in very front of the car.

you can also purchase the evo viii lights(JDM) which they look similar to the MR and have no HID's as well
here is the link:

299.00 for each headlight

thanks for all the sympathy guys. yes, i am okay and i got every body parts intact.

so far i have located a good deal on the jdm headlights (thanks cal!) everything is plug and play except for the fog lights. i can not find any vendor that has the do-luck lip in stock and it may take a month or so to get one shiped from japan. i am just going to stick with the stock bumper and lip.

here you go this was cover about the JDM light and how to re-wire the fog lights :

http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/album139/MR_wannabe_2.sized.jpg
http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/album139/MR_wannabe_1.sized.jpg

GOKU
japanese standard and us standard light bulb for fog light are different. their bulb socket type is same as hi-beam bulb.

http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/album139/Fog.sized.jpg

so you need to buy harness and "Y" connector to branch out from stock fog light wire.
you can get those from any autoparts store.

http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albums/album139/Fog_harness.sized.jpg
I'm holding stock fog light socket.

I used "Y" connector for just in case if I need to put stock one back.
Oh. don't forget to buy new bulbs. hehe
