Just a simple question. i'm not sure if this was already talked about, but...what brand do you people prefer? Chevron w/ Techron or 76 w/ ProPower. i usually put Chevron, but got more expensive and 76 got cheaper.

76. Most local tuners seem to yield better results from 76.

Chevron gas has always given me pretty poor mileage. And it's usually more expensive too. Not to mention Chevron ****ed up towing my car. (http://www.norcalevo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=69) I think I can be forgiven for having an axe to grind against them.

Used to pump Chevron/MTBE mix on my 1st months of owning the Evo. Switched over to 76 Unocal/Methanol mix and never looked back. :D

However... I still pump Chevron on my other vehicles.

I usually use 76 can't say that I noticed the difference between 76 and Chevron.

Perfer Chev, but 76 is closer so I use 76 most of the time. Never bother to try out any brand other than 76 or Chev on my Evo.

I have a friend (mechanical engineer by training) here at work who used to work for Ford Research and according to him their testing found Shell's to be the best gas. But I imagine regional variations exist and the gas here is Californi-cated anyway. :-(

Almost every performance-oriented person I know goes with 76; I figure there's got to be a reason...
