Hi all,

I just recently blew my stock clutch and I had an Exedy clutch installed.

I then went to S-Squared (they merged with Alpha's!) and had Nate do the install. He did a good job and the clutch feels great BUT after the install I have heard this terrible noise...

The noise generally happens when the vehicle is in gear and at its loudest in 1-3 rpms.... Very had to explain but please listen..any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Is it wierd that I had never heard the noise before getting the new clutch installed ??

then again, that whine on their, on my 2G eclipse, i always hear it...... it was somethign to do with the transmission, it was annoying as hell but it didnt' impair performance. .... you might want to have WORKS or someone with a lot of experience take a peek at it.

Well Nebo,

That makes me feel alot better. Hopefully, it's just something small and nothing else that costs me a chunk of change.

i recently put in my own clutch, exedy hyper single plate (mistake, should have got the twin plate) and every time i put it in gear and start to engage the clutch it make a loud rubbing noise, but when the clutch grabs fully, it stops..anyone know how i can fix that?

A little update if anyone is interested (doubtful!)

I called Nate @ Alpha's and he told me because the light-weight flywheel that was used in the install that the noise is normal. He assured me that on a 350z it sounded the exact same.

I can understand maybe the noise being different but it sounds pretty bad.... However, it is a killer clutch and flywheel setup.

I sounds to me that like the starter motor gear is draging against the teeth on the flywheel. Kind of like it is not completley lined up......

if the clutch sounds like that on my car, I rather put in a OEM clutch, b4 my whole tranny blows up, and that don't sounds normal to me, I smell bull sh!t

Hey D-man,

I never see you around despite the fact that we live within a mile from each other.

I don't know about that.... Works and Vishnu both sell and install the Exedy twin disk. I would give them both a call and get a 2nd opinion.

Hey Garrick!

We need to hang out man !!

Yah, I don't know about this whole clutch thing... Pretty frustrating.... I think I'm going to get a second opinion.

Thanks to everyone for their help...
