I was just wondering what everyone's camera "mileage" is. =P

Use the following format:

Brand, Model, Purchase date (approx to month, year), Shutter count

Nikon D80, Nov. 2007, 9587 actuations

bought my used canon xt about 3 months ago and I have about 9-10k actions on it

I'm not sure exactly how many since it doesnt have a counter, I'm just going off how many pics have been loaded on my computer since I bought the camera.

I think some are good for 150k clicks if I am not mistaken. Since June of 2006 to last night I have 30,379 clicks on my D50

Is there a way to chk how many clicks you have on the camera itself? Where are you guys getting these #'s from? I have a D50

I have just had mine on sequential file numbering so the images are "IMG_8119.jpg" etc. I'm pretty sure it is limited to 4 digits so all bets are off once I reach 9999, or I just add to it after it starts from 0 like an old car passing 100k!

Here's more info tho:

"We the "Nikon people" use a free EXIF viewer from Opanda.com that when you open a Jpeg file with it, shows you among everything else the Total shutter actuations of your camera."

But, to my knowledge there is no data written to EXIF on Canon cameras.

It depends on the series of camera. For the 1 series bodies, you can use a program called "Cancount" or "1dcount," but for the Rebel series,10D,20,30D,40D,5D your only able to get a count by sending it in to Canon. I tried my 5D with "EXIFreader" and it gave me some crazy actuation count, which I know is wrong because I bought it Brand New.
