So Bryan did work once again and made 312whp and 281wtq with a 10.8ish a/f the nice thing about the numbers is that it holds a minimum of 265tq from about 3500 till it hits peak tq at 6000ish and holds about 300hp from 6000-7000rpm, so it should be real easy to drive on the track. Fat tq curve with peak hp holding up top ftw.

This was on stock ic pipes, stock o2 housing and a TME. It was also on a stock wga that was pretty grumpy when Bryan tried to turn up the boost.

I decided to delete the old journal and start over. Its all been re labeled in order and some stuff has been added....... On to today.

So today I go to drop my car off at FIA to get the accusump installed and as I pull up I noticed a funny smell. Open the hood and the damn battery is seeping crap out the top and had already gotten all over my brand new polished uicp and screwed it all up. Earlier today I had to have bigworm jump start my car cause the battery was dead, so hopefully its just a faulty battery. Looks like I now have an excuse to install a mini battery.

dammit! well, at least optimas won't leak on you. I have an old optima you can have, but it's been deep cycled twice so it doesn't hold a charge real well and will die if you leave it connected for a few days. I now always pull the ground whenever I come back from an event or occasional drive.

I'm in Menlo Park. FYI, it's not charged. Probably should do some sort of battery test on it because I'd hate for you to come pick it up, only to find out it won't hold a charge. I didn't bother to test it and just blindly replaced it because at the time I was sick of jump starting the car every other week. But I do have it with me if you still want it.

Yeah I didnt take that one. It was taken by this man here with that setup 20D/L lens........ Thats what makes me want to upgrade my gear real bad. I took the same exact pic with multiple settings, and even through PS I couldnt get it to look anywhere near that clean. The silver car coming out of my bumper in that pic kinda bugs me as well. :?

Everytime I think about new gear, I think about Ansel Adams and what he could do with uber old lenses and cameras.

Much like racing, the person behind the camera is more important than the camera itself. Just some cameras make it easier for amateurs to appear semi-pro. And just like racing, the more time you have with it, the better your photos will get

steevo8
02-26-2008, 08:30 PM
but just like racing. If you drove your friends car and ran 5 seconds quicker doing the exact same thing you have been with your car.. Wouldn't it make you want his car?

UCB
02-26-2008, 09:09 PM
nope, sweeter to make up those 5 seconds with driving skill :P

UCB
02-26-2008, 09:29 PM
well id say your current gear is similar to the evo. Even out of the box the rebel xt with kit lens can take some great shots

the 50mm prime you have can be sharp as a tack too

L glass is nice, but I think your XT body is fine :)

lol @ cheater evo

steevo8
02-26-2008, 09:40 PM
Yeah I hear ya on that, but using a 20D and 40D with some L lenses have left me spoiled. The prime isn't even mine :( the only lens I own is the kit lens. I guess its like jumping back in the evo after a session in a gt2 or something..... That and I just like buying new toys so I'm assuming I would justify it regardless of how minor the flaws were.

UCB
02-26-2008, 10:40 PM
well if thats the case then at least you admit it

my point was your gear isnt whats holding back your progress :)

So Bryan did work once again and made 312whp and 281wtq with a 10.8ish a/f the nice thing about the numbers is that it holds a minimum of 265tq from about 3500 till it hits peak tq at 6000ish and holds about 300hp from 6000-7000rpm, so it should be real easy to drive on the track. steevo8

Im actually surprised that it made those numbers on such a conservative tune. Hopefully Bryan post some graphs up today so you guys can see the curve. It pretty nice really. The car was extremely sensitive to timing and Bryan says he sees that a lot in 03 models and that the S1 cams tend to have that characteristic as well. Im excited to see whats going to happen with a solid 110 tune :D

Bryan, how many cranks when you do your compression test? I do three, my cylinder pressures are way lower than Steve's.

MarkSAE
03-16-2008, 10:29 AM
Dave,

Do you do manual cranks or do you crank w/ the starter? 3 cranks doesn't seem like enough. I use the starter and just crank it til the pressure reading doesn't go any higher.

whtrice
03-16-2008, 10:36 AM
That is right..It should peak out. Might take 4 to 5 + revolutions til it peaks.

mtsevovii
03-16-2008, 10:17 PM
i would have installed it on the opposite side, to counter the weight of the fluid reservoir. and does it matter if the battery is sitting upright or laying down?

steevo8
03-16-2008, 10:42 PM
it doesnt matter what way these types of batteries sit and the res never has anything in it. Technically speaking that corner is usually the lightest since the driver is more or less on the left front not to mention that the right rear lifts harder during acceleration due to the rotation of the drive shaft.
