The stock Evo 8 ECU has two pins which are spare on the analog to digital converter system. While these inputs do not serve any function in the USDM Evo, the ECU still passes the data collected from the two inputs over MUT to your logger. This means pin 74 and 77 on the ECU can be used to datalog without extra hardware. I will be logging my DIY WBo2 via this method when it arrives. http://www.norcalevo.net/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=2&topic=27532.0. I will keep you updated as to how this goes.
Per the ECU diagram here
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/evo/tech/EVO-ecuwiring.htm
Pin 74 and 77 are not used. Add the following to your requestid.xml and you should begin to start logging these inputs in your logger
<Request LogReference="ADC0D(PIN74)" RequestID="88" Eval="x" Unit="Int" Logged="y" Response="2"/>
<Request LogReference="ADC0e(PIN77)" RequestID="87" Eval="x" Unit="Int" Logged="y" Response="2"/>
One has +5v pullup (the one that logs as 255 default), the other doesnt. These could be used for wbo2 logging, MAP logging etc
Hope you find this useful
