My deal for some sponsored Potenza S03s might not come through. So I wanted to get an idea of what is the ideal wet/dry performance tire for the evo in a 18 inch fitment. Ive read various opinions online and in magazines. What do you guys think?

you should wait for the new falken sport azenis. the new tread design has a better wet traction than it's predecessor and cost a lot cheaper than the s03

There is no ideal tire, it depends on the conditions (how wet? how dry? how hot? how cold?) and application (street? track? auto-x? drag?).

You're the guy with all the Weapon-R parts, so I take it you need a street tire...

yea definitely a street application. Well Im in the Bay Area.. so I guess Im talking about a good street tire that can handle rain and dry as in not wet haha.

I got some Avon m550's.

not a bad tire, certainly does not have the grip of the stock advans, but they are all-seasons.

Wet weather grip is excellent. Dry weather grip levels are excellent. The tires are mud & snow rated so you can do the occasional tahoe run.

Got them of tire rack for $100/tire

Do you drive a lot on the freeway or do you track your car?

Street and freeway mostly. No track too close to where i live, sometimes I hit up the local popo track but thats about it. I decided to go with Bridgestone RE750s, good price, good wear, and overall performance on wet/dry application.
