So, came back from the Autocross, and I got some cool shots. Unfortunately I was a little zoned out during the morning, and shot a ton of photos in ISO 3200. In broad daylight, of fast moving subjects :( Oh well. What do you guys think of the Beemer?

Well it doesn't look bad. at that resolution most of the detail is retained. I guess it could be sharper but yeah we all have those days. I shot the AutoX at Marina at ISO1000 with a bright sun at my back and i was pretty pissed about that. your's still looks good tho. :D post up more. :)

It looks great for such high iso. The cone in the bottom of the frame is distracting for me but not really much you can do about that. Post more :D

That's not at 3200, that's one of the ones at 400. I don't have a lens with a wide enough apeture to shoot anything lower than that with higher shutter speeds. Here's a couple more...

These are all in ISO 400. I was furious when I figured out I shot a full card's worth of ISO 3200. All went to trash. Keep in mind these images have no post processing done, straight from camera, resized in photoshop.

 ohhh haha ok i was wondering why 1) you were so freaked out at that and 2) why it didn't look like shit. xD

8) awesome shots

Thanks, yeah the only thing I can think of to make the general focus better is just by getting a nice 2.8 17-200 lens or something like that. But thanks.

Great shots Travis! For some reason my D50 does the same thing. All of a sudden I'll notice that little green exposure meter is pegged all the way to the left at ISO 1600. I usually catch it now but it used get me all of the time. I guess if you shoot in RAW you can salvage the over exposed shots. I haven't experimented yet.

Yeah, I didn't shoot in raw because I wouldn't be able to fit a ton on the card, but quality over quantity. So yeah, I'll try shooting raw at the next event. Thanks.

Mostly the reason I don't shoot raw is because the time I think it will take to edit. I know the rewards are greater. Another reason is my computer system is too loaded up. I either have to upgrade it, buy a new tower or make the switch to a Mac. Adobe has a program for raw files that is supposed to be quick & painless. I like to spend more time shooting rather than editing. I am sure my opinion will change when I get a better system though.

I already told ya DD, like 90% of the photos I took were horrible! Unfortunately the last few that had the correct settings were really blurry :(

Dave, if you want a new computer, I can build one for you. We'd just go to fry's, and I'd set it up for ya. It's way worth it over buying a Mac...

the BMW looks good, but the last two look to be out of focus.
