oh wells. haha

k I need tips for photographing in a performance setting.

tonite is gonna be mostly dark. there are no upper levels to get aerials. and most of my lighting is going to be provided via. spotlight.

I've done these before but I can never figure out a way to get decent exposure because the spot light's so strong. =\ i usually get blown out faces. I run high apertures (1.8 or 3.5 depending on which lens i'm using).

Tonight I might use my 50mm f/1.8 and set it to ~2-3.

any help in the next....hmm....30 minutes would be greatly appreciated. :) 8) thanks everyone.

lock? there's a red tab that locks down. you have to set the manual aperture to 22 tho before it locks (w/ digital cameras you select aperture from the body itself). :) try that out Eddy.

probably too late now... but.

you could try:
F/1.8-2.0
shutter speed 1/100-1/125sec
ISO 800

If you're blowing out the faces, bump up the shutter speed... or decrease the aperture, but yeah.. if it's movement and a performance, def keep your shutter speeds up.

thanks e9. haha yeah too late but I figured it out quicky enough. I let my friend borrow my 50mm so I was using my 18-200 @ f/3.5-5.6 all night. I bumped ISO to 1250 and didn't go any higher for fear of what i'll see later D:

damn... just to clarify tho (cus it'd suck if that lens was broken), the manual aperture ring is set to 22 like in the picture? :(
