Vivid Racing takes the ultimate leap with their Project EVO X and teams up with Agency Power and AFI Turbo to release this new GT35 Twin Scroll Turbo Kit.

The Agency Power AFI Turbo Kit features a Twin Scroll Garrett GT35R with a .82a/r and twin external Tial 44mm wastegates. The kit is designed to work modular with the Agency Power Cold Air Intake and factory front mount intercooler. However, Agency Power and AFI have taken it 1 step further and developed this high flow vertical bar and plate core front mount intercooler for maximum horsepower. The kit connects to the large turbo compressor with the upgraded 3" intercooler pipe which is powdercoated black and all TIG welded. The headers feature the AFI true merged collector and a CNC machined stainless steel 1/2inch thick flange. All the T304 stainless steel pipes are maticulously cut and then TIG welded for a perfect fit and finish.

To make this turbo kit work, Agency Power is finishing development of it's CNC machined aluminum high flow fuel rail and upgraded larger injectors. In addition, we have removed the factory fuel pump and had a direct replacement pump manufactured for us to handle the 600whp this car will produce. While controlling the boost with our Greddy Profec B2 boost controller, Vivid Racing will be tuning this car using the ECUTEK ECU flash on our Mustang All Wheel Drive Dyno.

Stay tuned as this project heats up with the addition of JIC Magic Coilovers, Test & Service body kit, and some 1 off special edition IForged wheels.

Any question in regards to this project car, please contact [email protected] or call 1-480-966-3040 x227.

I wonder how fast the paint would burn off the hood with that crazy tubular exhaust manifold...

especially on a hot summer day...

As fast as it did on a Evo 8/9?

The X has a big vent right above the turbo area.

Well, word is people are working on clutch packs for it. Of course that'll be a cool $5k easily, but point is if you want it, it's there.

Wow, there's no room back there for the turbo / headers.
That's gotta be a PITA to install.

There is actually a bit more room than in the Evo 8/9. However I would imagine working back there would indeed be the suck.

Looks good, but......I'm holding off on anything major like this until I see more X's with miles on big turbo setups.

I'm glad someone is being a guinea pig for things like this. Looking forward to seeing the results of their high power kit in both power band and reliability.

600 HP on stock internals??

Damn, that's like time bomb waiting to happen.

Crazy setup though.

W/ the engine cover, it can be really stealthy too. Major advantage w/ having the exhaust manfiold in the back.

We've seen K-series Honda motors hold plenty of power with similar setups. The aluminum block is a weak point, but as someone noted on the EVOM thread, you can sleeve the block and "close" the deck to hold a higher cylinder pressure, allowing for more power.

The Evo X apparently comes sleeved from the factory.

Yes, the motor comes with sleeves, just like the Honda's, but those sleeves are not nearly as strong as Ductile or Nikasil sleeves. You will have to punch out the factory sleeves, re-machine the aluminium block, and then press in the new ones. This way you can also change your bore diameter and piston size as well.
