Thanks for the pointer. I've read a number of other documents/pages on the topic as well.
Early when I had my Evo I bought 1 gallon of xylene (117 octane) ($10 at Home Depot I think) and put that in my tank and topped it off with 91, netting almost 93 octane. Couldn't honestly say I could feel a difference. These days I just use 100 octane gas which if sold at the pump is slightly cheaper (and safer and easier) than buying xylene by the 1-gallon can.

Do you feel any difference with the 100?

To be honest, no... but it means I can't use "crappy CA gas" as an excuse for sucking at auto-x.

Bone stock, I honestly felt a difference between 93 and this crappy 91, but didn't feel one between 93 and straight 100 in the tank. Add a boost controller and/or fuel control and it's a different story ;)

good info :)
I'm actually learning from stuff like this to not put in the entire can of booster or gas additives...cuz i have noticed before that if you put too much in then the car runs too rich and u get sluggish performance...
