View Full Version : 4th of July Fireworks Pics

So, watched the fireworks display in Milpitas last night, and thought I'd try my hand at shooting fireworks. After reading a bit about tips, I took my tripod, 18-200 Nikon lens, D300, and remote release to see what I could get. All shots are ISO 200, most around 1.5 - 2 seconds holding the trigger release in bulb mode, at f11.

aw sweet! I wanted to go and try my luck with fireworks as well but family urgency kept me in. oh well. looking good :D

I swear I love the D300 from what I've read and the playing around I've done with it. Awesome pics man! I swear the one on the bottom almost looks like a palm tree.

Yar, the D300 is a hell of a camera. Easy to use. One of the nice things was that I had it set up in Live View mode, Manual Focus, with remote release, so I could still be away from camera and sit with my wife, while still getting the shots. Live View allowed me to see how the framing was going while sitting maybe 4-6' away. With my D70, that would never have worked.
