I love my Nikon D200. But it's just too heavy for travel or if I just want to shoot family/friends gathering. And I am always afraid of breaking it, or it getting stolen. So I’ve been looking for a compact camera with full manual functions and have decent quality in low light.
After some research, I picked up a Canon G7 point-and-shoot from eBay. It fits the bill perfectly. It’s got the standard controls for aperture or shutter priority, full manual, program, etc. Goes up to 1600 iso. Supports lens adapters so you can use any type of filters or wide/zoom converters. AND it has a hot shoe mount for a full size flash if I want to use one! :o

I also discovered that there’s aftermarket support for it!!

The modding has already began! I ordered the grip, black ring and the thumb dot for it. It already came with the lens adapter and a 3x telephoto converter from the previous owner too.
Anyone else has any feedback on this camera? Now I have to decide if I should bring this to the Beijing Olympics, or my D200 and all the gear….. or both :?
