View Full Version : Test Drove the X MR at MOD 08

At MOD08 I got to road test the X/MR.. The car was real Smooth and quiet like a caddy..:(
I tried the super sport mode at WOT and the paddle shift was cool. The shift response was quick but the car itself didnt seem to quick?
I guess I'm just used to my modded Evo's Acell.. The brakes felt good. Its a real nice car but for that kind of money I would get a GSR and have a GT-35R on it..
And not worry about grenading the auto trans.. Just my .02 cents.. :P

^^It just depends on what one wants out of his car.. For me no I like the clutch pedal and the launch ability..

was hardly anymore fun than the Ralliart.

shifting was definately surprising as it was quite quick between gears. car was EXTREMELY quiet (than again, probably used to the modified-ness of the 03). IMO both the MR and the Ralliart were fast, but not in a throw you back in the seat fashion. they just seemed to get you to high rate of speed without you really noticing that you got there.

pricing wise, the Ralliart is the way to go. parts to bring the Ralliart up to par with the MR would be much more cost effective than purchasing the MR IMHO.

It was quite fun also it was a surprise to get the chance to drive the X/MR without
any purchase pressure from sales staff.. FTW

stock evo 9's felt like that too...not a throw u in the seat, but quietly gets up to speed quickly. I think you just used to more powah

They had a mapped out test route it was only like a 5min test drive..

I drove a flashed GSR versus a stock MR over at the EDO Performance after MOD meet and found the flashed car to be much faster. Dyno levels showed there to be a 60+ whp difference with just the flash alone. Too bad the car did not come from the factory with that kind of power.

It had to be "de-tuned" or "not-as-fully-tuned-as-it-could-be" because the Injector Cycle duty was running too high. So my ROM had to be sent to ECUtek so they can work on it then send it back.

Once it's back the car can be further tuned for more gains. Right now it's 302whp/292tq.

Going for a Dyno run on Friday at GST to get some actual charts.

Mustang Dyno @ EIP.

They told me their Dyno froze so they could not print out charts. Which is why I'm going to GST this Friday to see what's up with my numbers.

read somewhere that the IDC are maxxed out around 300whp. Forgot where but they are recommending fuel pump and injectors for bigger power.

Think Bryan started noticing it on some IX's with TB and air filter mods. Each car was a different case. Not surprised at all this wouldn't apply to the X's as well.
