haha the new set looks good too.

The only constructive criticism is maybe using some fill flash to balance the shadows.

yeah I need to buy a decent flash.. Everything I shot with fill flash that day turned out like crap regardless of what the flash exposure was set at.

Yeah, I've done 8 or 9 full weddings now. And outdoor flash is the hardest thing to master for me so far. Even with the Nikon TTL BL setting, it's still very inconsistent. Now when I shoot outdoors, I just put it P mode and set the SB-800 flash to TTL BL. For portraits, I set the flash 45 degrees to the subject and I use a Gary Fong diffuser. I'd rather capture the moment with a decent exposure than to fumble with the manual settings and end up missing the shot completely.

Were you the only shooter of the day? Were you covering the entire event? There is a list of "money" shots you should look for. The Money shots will tell a story for the day, and the day is usually split into 4 acts:

- The Backstage Transformation
- The Ceremony
- The Portraits
- The Celebration

Each act has the important moments like the placing of the veil or the garter, the ring ceremony, the first kiss, the first dance etc.

You should strive to capture these important moments first, and then think about getting the details or the creative shots. You should also think about getting a variety of wide angle and close ups to mix it up.

I am still learning at every wedding. I think it's fun and you meet a lot of bridesmaid, ahem...... people. :P

I actually wasnt a photographer at all. I was a groomsman. The Groom was one of my best friends and I decided I would take a few pics just for the hell of it. They had two shooters there that got all the key coverage, and I just took shots when I could. Backstage I was getting ready with everyone else, during the ceremony I was standing up with the rest of the groomsman, and the celebration was low light so I couldnt get many shots to turn out well with the factory flash. I have only owned a slr for about 9 months now and have never taken any photography classes so I just try to shoot as much as possible in hopes to self teach as much as I can. Once I actually know what Im doing I wouldnt mind shooting 2nd or 3rd at a wedding just for the experience.

Thanks man... I really enjoy it so I work pretty hard at it. I have actually only had about 4 months experience  cause I sold my first camera after three months and have now had my 20d for about three weeks. bought my rebel xt to shoot some decent christmas shots last year and have been pretty hooked ever since. Other then just practice I really think learning more about proper lighting and refining my editing skills will really bring my shots to the next level. I think Im going to invest in a decent flash and a couple lenses here soon so I should have some newer more interesting things to post soon. :D

Killer shots bro! They turned out really nice. I have a buddy that has a place a mile or two away from the Dry Creek exit in the outskirts of Healdsburg. Great area too.

oh man. If you go visit him you MUST go drive Skaggs springs road. If you want a guide let me know... It's seriously one of the most awesome roads of all time. It was built for the military to transport stuff in from hwy 1, and has a mix of just about every kind of corner you could think of. Theres a section of about 15miles that's perfect... After that it's a goat path. I rode that 15mile stretch about 8-10 times a week on my bike durring the summer.. It's epic.
