Hey guys, I'm up here for the summer and have an 03 Evo 8. Last night on my way back from a friends', my car started making strange whirring sounds and high pitched noises on top of that. It was still able to drive home but it sounded crazy. When I stopped on the side of the freeway, I smelled some burnt rubber. I immediately suspected the tires, but everything looked okay. I admit it was dark and I couldn't really see. When I got home, I noticed that while turning right, my car was starting to make crazy clicking noises and they sounded directly under me, so it must be something powertrain related.

Anyway, the point is - does anyone know if any good repair facilities in the San Jose/santa clara area that has experience with Evos? Capitol Mitsu? I've been to steven's creek once and they overcharged me for a shoddy job.

I ended up taking it to SE this morning.

Turns out that my rear diff fluid got completely drained somehow and everything inside burned up. Replacement's gonna cost me $3k.
