In honor of the new power mods section I thought I wopuld start a thread for exhaust, below is my set up I dont have the graphs to scan. Please feel free to add yours and perhaps a mod can like the noise clip threads.

I had a custom built turbo back using an RMR DP installed.

Also has a 12" resonater and a CarSound Hiflow Cat total cost $550

My Car put down 270hp/271tq on a DynoJet a gain of between 30-40 hp over what a stock 03 Evo runs on that type of dyno.

oh yeah car also has a K&N drop in, and a ghetto extra ground wire or two.

heres what i got:

WORKS P2 reflash, DP, IP, ABM, K/N filter. sorta like the TR303+ (minus TB)...

before TBE i was pulling 229.8 horseys. waiting for another dyno day to see what the difference on paper it made. it definitely is much more fun to drive. :D

got graphs, but no scanner and no sound clips.

just got my HKS exhaust installed earlier at Gruppe-S. flow is much freeier than stock as expected and love the sound of it. up next is probably a DP and HFC by Helix or WORKS.

not to knock helix or works but confirm they are carb legal first or they wont do you any good in the ticket dept. If they arent magnaflow and catco make carb legal hi-flows.

i dont think any aftermarket cats are legal. I believe all of them are illegal....

Isn't the Magnaflow carb legal cat only legal on specific GM and Dodge vehicles?

i have not dynoed my car yet, but here are my mods
dynoflash, hallman mbc set at 20psi, hks dp, works hfc, and helix cat back. car pulls much harder than it did stock :)

oh, and the works hfc says "for offroad use only" but that stamp is now upside down so you can't see it :)

i have a helix cat back and hks drop in and p-2 i dynoed at gruppe-s at 235whp then i add helix dp and test pipe then got it dynoed again at gruppe-s, 250whp.

whats UR TP?

Hey thanks. UR TP = Ultimate Racing Test Pipe. I've swapped that out for a Ultimate Racing Hi-flow cat. Been feeling guilty about polluting the air. Doesn't feel as peppy but I recently added WORKS 269 cams to make up for the loss in performance from ditching the test pipe :twisted:

as long as there OBD II approved, the aftermaket cat should have a stamp on it.

Correct, Jan is also correct but the cat is stamped carb legal which is more than enough in most caes, they are also working on further cert for it.

Yes, approved for very specific vehicles. No hiflow is legal for Evo yet.

and i love the HKS not to loud but it sounds rutheless when i step on it.

when i had my mods on before i got reffed
-ams catback,helix tp, helix dp, 750cc injectors, walbro fp
I put down 298 to the wheels on the EIP dyno
-all depends on the tuner +1 for Paul

just curious was that on a 8 or 9 ? cuz my goal is to get 400 approximately on a 8 turbo. then after that jump to a 9 max that out and then go with a cbrd turbo!

Too damn loud!!!!! JIC exhaust, Magnaflow custom 5" test pipe, Mynes manifold. Friggin thing is making me deaf!!!! :eyecrazy:

I probably have the ghetoiest of all but it works :) is popo aproved (even with an official police trading car and sticker aproval)
I am running a "custom" TB (missing an aftermarket O2 housing, I haven't install it yet)

3inch Megan DP, high flow cat (soon to be swap with a test pipe and cat shield on), Greddy 3inch CB pipe to a stock axle back, is quiet as hell but, Hey... Im tired to get pull over after work for no damn reason.

I can hear again!!!, installed an additional 24" bullet resonator now she just purrs!! That would be a 5" round Magnaflow w/25" resonator and JIC exhaust canister exhaust. I find myself driving faster now without all that noise!! :icon_smile: Got to slow down:icon_smile::icon_smile:!!!

I have a Buschur race catback with stock downpipe and a Works drop-in. Pulls much harder. Downpipe and licp are next.

Stock cat back? Isnt it not a 3 inch diameter? So exhaust flow is restricted since you already hav a aftermarket dp,tp? If not i hav to do it too, im tired of how loud my cb is. Maybe the stock axleback can tone it down.

exhaust cutout controller by wastgate on stock exhaust. 285 hp on dynojet closed, 310 open. I also have a brass screw on valve that closes it totally. It is accessible right below the dash.
