i'm pissed at canon.

ditch the mp's and the video capability, all gimmicks in my eyes aimed at attracting your average consumer (yeah yeah, it's a business and they want broader/larger market share).

update the AF and up the FPS, geez.

edit-

i preordered one off amazon anyways....

I'm with you E9, I think Canon should of kept the 5D Mark II more inline with the Nikon D700, but of course with a maybe 16MP. I think having video on the lower end bodies like the 50D would be a great move, but not on such a high end prosumer camera. Although it would be nice to have the HD video option and not have to carry around a camcorder say while on vacation, but its not going to make me buy this camera for that reason. Also, who really needs 21MP?

EXACTLY! I was hoping for D700 specs in the 5D MkII form in addition to those extra unnecessary bells and whistles.

Canon has separated it's cameras, or it's product line into two areas: Professional and Consumer. They got rid of the prosumer with the previous 5D iteration.

from the sounds of it, it's the same sensor(hinted at being even i little bit better) as the 1ds mkIII. so pretty much the same camera for a third of the price.
i'm not sure that's too much to complain about but i guess that's just me

btw, 21mp comes in handy for 4'x5' prints on canvas since my buddy will let me use his equipment. now i just need to shoot something worth printing that big. :)
