"you can do it!" the design is reminiscent of wilson's "works" yellow evo. :D

How are you going to do it on the windows?

I've seen cars with full-body decals where the parts over the windows have lots of little holes in them, you can see right through them on the inside. Anyway, something like that... I'm still studying the possibility, costs, etc.

(Updated with a less-slanted design, and decal over the B-pillars.)

I don't think it looks bad Tam, just seems like it will be adding too much attention to you while driving, and while parked. A lot of idiots out there would key it just for fun

Slightly less ambitious (but no doubt much cheaper) design:

I like the new "slightly less ambitious design". Looks good, and less flashy.

how about just a tiny canadian flag under the side mirror? or on the window with your last name on it. easier to peel out.

Nah, I already have that on my rally car:

This is for the appearance. Making the flag tiny would defeat the purpose.

They won't even allow Mitsu to sell the EVO in Canada.

I don't think it's a question of "allow", I guess Mitsubishi Motors (which only started selling in Canada a few years ago) decided not to spend money on legalizing the Evo for sale there (because you know how flush with money Mitsubishi Motors is). The STi is available there, though, and I think it's perfectly legal to import one from the states.

The "winning" design:

http://imagenode.com/image?i=251

The final one will be tweaked just a bit to pull the front edge back to clear the front door handle, and I'll probably put my WORKS decals on the white part of the sideskirt (since the lower front part of the door needs to accommodate the mandated SCCA and Solo2 stickers.

Got a pretty reasonable price quote from Jay at GraphTech (www.gtstickers.com) who did the graphics on Joe Harrison's car last year.

And I'd like to hear from one of the 10 who voted "it sucks", who are you? (Last I checked the vote was 7 to 4, how'd it get to 7 to 10?) "Whatever, I'll do what I want!" :nana:

Looks good.

Btw, your front slotted rotors are on backwards. The slots are supposed to go forward.

I've heard differing opinions on that. The slots serve to sweep away brake dust so it seems to me they would work better that way. I'll ask for a second opinion before switching them since I'd have to bed them in again... What's more important is if the rotors have directional vanes (between the rotor surfaces)--and these ones don't, I'm pretty sure.

Well, Stoptech says to install with them pointed forward so I figured with all the insanely crazy R&D Stoptech does, they might know a thing or two.EDIT, you are right vtluu, it has to do with the vane design not the slots, The vanes inside the rotor should lean to the rear. It just so happens that on stoptechs that makes the slots turn forward. :)

Which rotors are those?

But yea, you might as well just wait till you get new pads or something since you would have to bed them in.

Hey, what kind of turn-around did you get on the vinyl?

vtluu
03-24-2005, 07:32 PM
The rotors are from R1Concepts. Supposedly they're made from the same blanks as Rotora's rotors, and on Rotora's site I see the rotors mounted on the the other way, so I suppose yes, I do have them mounted backwards. But they don't have directional vanes (as far as I know) so it's not going to make a huge difference.

I'm 2/3 through my Ferodo DS2500 pads (and already have a spare set waiting) so I'll switch the rotors when I change them.

GraphTech was able to cut the vinyl within 2 days of my sending them the design (which I drew up in CorelDraw and sent them in Adobe Illustrator format). Due to the weather they weren't able to schedule an install until next week, so I did it myself in my garage last night.
