I'm just using RCA to headphone jack....
Unless you go aftermarket, there is nothing that will hook up the iPod to allow charging and control through the deck.

I use the old griffen i-mate with mine and then stereo miniplug to that and the otherside to whatever AUX in you have.
It charges and plays, even with my i-phone.
Then have a new product called the TuneFlex that does it better I think:

I'm just using a Fry's brand RCA to headphone jack. The only issue I have is that you get that engine "whine". Are there shielded versions out there to cancel this out?
Yes, you can buy shielded headphone jack to RCA cables. I used to have a Monster Cable one and I have an Audioquest one now. Used to use these back in the day to copy CDs to cassette tape from my Discman... lol
