Here's the reason for this mod: http://www.norcalevo.net/forum/index.php/topic,35231.msg598256.html#msg598256
1) During Saturday's dyno session, I asked Bryan to make a 4th gear pull because I didn't want the car to knock when there's more stress on the motor. First pull... knock, so he took out timing in some areas. Second pull... perfect. I got out of the car then noticed something strange on the floor. Hmmmm... what's this dark-colored liquid? It was raining hard that day so I thought the roof leaked onto the dyno. Next I looked in the engine bay... oil was everywhere! Bryan noticed the dipstick was popped out, thus causing oil to spray almost everything. He's probably still mad at me for the incident because he hasn't answered my PM yet. lol Sorry Bryan!!!
Purchased from Home Depot. I used the 4.5" spring (15/32" X 4-1/2" X .041")

Here's the sping. I had to use pliers to form the ends so they'll wrap around the dipstick and the dipstick bracket.

The focus of this picture was the bracket that attaches to the intake manifold (the gold colored tube and bracket that faces 2 o'clock). It's hard to see, but the spring wraps around it so it won't fall off when the spring isn't holding the dipstick down.

The other end of the spring wraps around the loop of the dipstick.

Pretty simple and well worth the time because it'll take you longer to clean your engine bay. :) I still haven't gotten all the oil off yet since some places are too hard to get to.
