So theres absolutely nothing special going on here other then it was taken with my new 40D. Shot taken in jpeg@ ISO500 with very little editing other then brightness, size and sharpened. Shot was taken in san rafeal at the starbucks next to where I met the guy to purchase it. Sad to see the 20D go but I already know Im gonna love this thing.

I'm not sure if its me or my monitor, but in your shadow [frame] do you see a greenish blue?

Its greenish/blue on my Dell monitor but when I drag it back over to my mac its not. Its a action on CS3 so color is not a option. I just like it cause its quick and easy and Im lazy.

if you had someone else buy it why not go 50D or 5D?

well it was a money thing mostly. I was talking about upgrading and that it would only cost a couple hundred to go to the 40D. Then a 40D popped up for $600  and a friend said he would give me $300 for my 20D and so my grandma came through with the rest as a gift. So it cost at the minimum $350-$400 less then a 50D. As much as I would like to have the 50 for what I do and need it's nowhere near a $400 better body. I would much rather have $400 towards glass then the 50D if that was the case.

On that not, I'm trying to score a 17-40L for basically a straight trade for a 28-135IS and some misc camera gear I don't really use... Just like with my car, I'm about to have equipment that is so far above my abilities it's just stupid.

yeah it's a pretty emo coffee shop pic that's for sure...

Update: this camera fuckin rocks! ISO control is way better then the 20D, ISO in the view finder is way nice to have, the larger viewing moniter is pretty sweet, live view is pimp for low angle stuff... No more laying in the dirt!!! Spot metering is pretty dope for macro stuff, the AF is much faster etc... My only semi complaint is that images wide open are a tad softer then my 20D straight out of the camera.. Can't complain much about that though since all my raw shots are PP anyways and I already knew it was gonna be like this so no worries. One hell of a nice upgrade from a users perspective but if you don't shoot slot or just shoot JPEG I think the 20D is a better bang for the buck body..

I also ended up swooping up a 17-40L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I traded for a 28-135IS with uv filter, polarizer, 50mm f/1.8, a 4gb sandisk and a camera bag... He'll of a deal for a L lens IMO since it sells for $600ish used and I had about $450-$500 into the other stuff. Im stuck without much of a zoom but shooting with L glass is worth it.
