...damentally a bad idea, driving an autocross/track-prepared Evo out onto a rally course.
I was working a timing control station at the end of Stage 1 at Desert Storm Rally (http://www.desertstormrally.com) today, and thought it'd be "fun" to use my Evo to drive out to the station, through the transit road and the stage route. Bad idea. The road was extremely rough in some parts, and I was dodging boulders and deciding what part of the bottom of the car I liked least (and drive over some jagged protruding rocks). All kinds of rocks and stuff bouncing off the bottom of the car, and I bottomed out the front when I accidentally went a bit too "enthusiastically" into a dip. Net result: 1 torn and detached undertray, 1 destroyed brake air guide, paint chipped off my bumper in few places, and some damage to the bumper lower lip.
(And then I had to do it all over again at the end of the day driving back.)
I'm just glad I didn't break anything else--as far as I can tell (I'll have to wait until I get under the car to know for sure). The first thing that came to mind as I was getting bounced around on the road, was "I wish I had a skidplate just about now... like the one on my rally car!" I can hardly wait to have it ready and drive these roads at speed... :)

Another victim of the rough rally stages ("No, you can't take spare parts off my car!")

Wished they'd had one of these signs at the *start* of the road:
