well I thought it would be great to post this up, as many people have mixed emotions about passing SMOG with cams. I thought some would be surprised by the results because I was..! The reason why I needed my car to be SMOGGED was that I recently moved to SoCal and my previous out of state registration expired...

My car was tuned with these mods a little over a year ago by nonother than Alfred @ Tuning Technologies...

2006 Evo IX
Tuning Technologies dyno tune
TD-05 16G Turbocharger
Cosworth 272 M2 camshafts
ETS 3" front mount intercooler
ETS 2.5" lower IC pipe
AEM short-ram intake
Forge MBC
Megan 3" TBE w/ resonated test pipe -----------> replaced with crusty OEM catalytic converter...!
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Precision 780 fuel injectors

These are the Smog Check numbers my car produced... http://www.socalevo.net/forum/Smileys/smilies_smf/wink.gif

IDLE--------RPM: 1020 CO2%: 14.30 O2%: 0.10 HC (ppm): MAX 100; AVE 17; MEAS 6 CO%: MAX 1.00; AVE 0.00; MEAS 0.00
2500RPM---RPM: 2595 CO2%: 14.50 O2%: 0.20 HC (ppm): MAX 130; AVE 12; MEAS 11 CO%: MAX 1.00; AVE 0.10; MEAS 0.00

And this is what my engine bay looked like during the time of the inspection...

A little side note, I placed my black Forge MBC underneath the air filter, its still easily accessible to turn it with the filter on or off. But difficult to see if you dont know what your looking for...

exhaust ?

They didnt do a visual of the exhaust but I did put my OEM cat back on. And the inspector did drive my car into his test shed...

That was the only chankge to my car...

Thanks for the update sir. As far as fmic I heard as long as you have a stockie turbo you should be fine. Then someone told me that youc can fail with fmic depending on the inspector. I'm liking my chances now. Thanks again. ;)

Here's another good read about smog checks 5 posts down...

Hehehe mine was right by the radiator hose beside the air box, the technician didnt even say anything about the MBC..... I have a 264/272 combo, O2 housing, downpipe 3", and a greddy exhaust. oh yeah i put back my cat converter just in case and just got smogged last week with no problem.

Actually I didn't notice the age but the discussion is relevant to my interests.
