Anyone got any tip/advise/write-up on installing the Defi fuel pressure sensor? I searched on NorCalEvo and EvoM and seems like there's only request but no replied...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

hey r6bruin,

this is what i did.

i bought the ultimate-racing fuel gauge adapter for the evo from adam at www.z1auto.com. this has the 1/8 NPT fuel port for the sensor.

http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Products2/EvoVIII/EvoVIII_FuelPressureGaugeAdapter.shtml

it takes about 20-30 min to install on a cold engine evo.

or you can get the PERRIN fuel rail that has the 1/8 NPT fuel port for the sensor.

http://www.perrinperformance.com/Products/Lancer_EvoVIII/Fuel_Rail.htm

DO NOT DO WHAT THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL SAYS AND CUT THE FUEL LINE AND PUT A T ADAPTER!!!!!!!

hope this helps.

I did the same with the Perrin rail. You'll have to get the Defi 1/8NPT to 1/8PT adapter from Horsepowerfreaks.com. Otherwise the threads will gaull. ( Damn internation thread tapers )

Thanks for the advise, jbigelow, lqdchkn. Big thumbs up to you guys

Btw, jbigelow, you got some hot gauges setup on your car, did you do all these installation by yourself? :)

naw, gino and merc @ gbmotorsports/mpj performance did all of the installation except for the fuel pressure gauge adapter since i didn't have that part yet.

thanx for the compliment and let us know what you went with to install yours.

enjoy that gauge!!!!

Sure thing! I checked out different alternatives and seems like the Ultimate-Racing fuel gauge adapter is the easiest plug-n-play solution. Unless I got some interesting feedback I'll probably place an order within this week.

Btw the guys in GBMotorsports are cool, I got the boost gauge and exhaust install there too :)
