What kind of luck has everyone had with their mini batteries? I'm thinkin about this in the trunk inplace of the spare. Worried about the battery not having enough balls.

I had the hawker genesis which is basically the same thing in my WRX for over a year with no problems what so ever, even in tahoe, at the track, etc etc.

I wasn't running an amp or subwoofer though.

The hawker will be going in my EVO as well. Can't beat 13lbs!

Is that thing sealed? - meaning can you put it in the passenger compartment and mount it any which way w/o worrying about fumes etc?

Its sealed but I was informed that even sealed batteries give off explosive fumes. Don't know how. But most sealed battery boxes have hoses to remove this methylethylbadstuff.

you should consider this battery kit:
here is the thread: http://www.socalevo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8770

here is the info with some pics

[quote="myevostore.com"]OK everyone, the battery kit will be out in about 2 weeks. The target price we are seeking is $225 including the battery. I've provided preliminary photos (the actual product wil be even nicer!). The polished battery tray shown is an extra $40 because of the polishing. The $225 price is for a black version which we will have photos of hopefully next week.

Since the first batch will be limited, we want to take names down of people that are serious about these kits when they are released as they will go fast.

The real kit will include allen button-head bolts instead of these hex ones.

Polished version.

Woops, is that a preliminary shot of the piping kit too?? How'd that get in there? :P

Counter-sunk holes make mounting easy and clean.

Here my mini battery install. I added on to Marcel's badass grounding kit. Also a home made catch can.

How is that battery being held down? That alum case covers the battery then bolts down somewhere?

I used 6 short sheetrock screws into the stock batery tray.

So into plastic or metal?

The battery tray is like a weird plastic. Holds good. Got the weight lower than the standard mini battery standing up.
