I saw this on MR2OC.com and someone in Roseville saw a Smog Checkpoint, like the DUI checkpoints, but with a sniffer and all. Then another member posted this.http://www.smogtips.com/remote_sensing.cfm , yes I think we are SOL.

It's not like they will pull you over and give you a ticket. #3 says: "(3) Vehicle owners are mailed a letter asking them to participate in a voluntary vehicle repair program." Just put back the stock cat. and tell them their machine is wrong and have them pay for a smog check. Not a problem at all.

I heard about this from a friend who does smog, and I could not believe, they are getting ridiculous in terms of smogs now on days. They are considering and planning on installing cameras as well to keep an eye on the smog stations. WTF?

im sure the checkpoints will be noticeable...just get some momentum and pop it in neutral and roll through the checkpoint. You'll probably be fine.
