use the EvoScan. plug the tactrix cable, turn key to Ignition, then open the Evoscan. on the bottom right corner, youll see a button that says "Read DTC" click that to read the code, then to clear the code just click "Clear DTC"

you guys... i dont wanna disable it because it feels wierd (the car)...it feels like something is wrong when it came on...and a couple times after... how do you check if it a real misfire or not? im reading post but all they are is just disabling the sensor which i dont wanna do because of the fact that i think its actually misfiring.

This was happening with my car (stock) for awhile at around 30K-40K. I then changed my spark plugs but didn't gap them correctly and it kept occurring. After gaping my plugs correctly it then stopped throwing this code and I haven't seen it since.

Good luck.

I'm not a mechanic but I've heard that those who run more power lessen their gap to .024 and some down to .020.

Here is what I found:

"you must reduce the gap about .004" for every 50 hp you add as a general rule of thumb."

--

"i would actually recommend started with a larger gap. try .032 first, then gap down from there if you run into mis-fires.

You want to run the largest gap possible to properly expose the spark to the mixture. If you run too big, the spark with actually be blown out, causing misfires, if you run too small, the firing end temp increases, thus does the cylinder temps/pressures. Rule of thumb is to start larger and work your way down until you no longer have misfires. Trust me on this. All engines are different, the gap requirements will change from engine to engine, setup to setup.

Heat range will effect a lot as well, the colder the heat range, the more fouling becomes a problem, make sure your set-up warrants a colder heat range plug. Look at my original post on page one for refference.

check visual appearence of plug electrode, if still good, gap to .024 and you should be set

If the car "feels weird" like you said then I wouldn't just disable the routine in the ECU. That doesn't correct the problem it just tells the computer to stop doing that check and to stop throwing the error code.

I would only do that if you were 100% sure that your engine isn't misfiring, otherwise you have no way of knowing other than the feel of it.

IMO, the easiest/cheapest thing to diagnose is the plugs. So start with that. But, like I said, I'm not a mechanic.

was the with the Service Engine Light on or off? and if its some thing that you can simulate everytime, then i would say that you have a real misfire. with that said check your plugs, make sure they are gapped properly. go .024 to start.....

The P0300 is notoriously common on the 03's (not sure about other years), but if your car feels weird then yes there could be some other stuff going on. For some, the P0300 could only be disabled by ecu method.
