View Full Version : Cooling the oil cooler

I stole this one from the DSM days (their stock intercooler is in the same location as our oil cooler). No proof it works, just the laws of physics ;)

Started by removing some clips and screws (yellow), made some cuts with the Dremel and drilled out some existing rivets (red):

You'll see the air cooler exposed as well as a brace. I used the brace to sandwich the wire mesh (cut an inch bigger than hole) and added a few extra rivets of my own. It's really not noticeable unless you're looking for it (paint it black if you want to go stealthy):

I had the wheel off the driver's side anyways, so I went ahead and did it as well (although I doubt the I/C reservoir will benefit much ;)):
