I was just wondering. Is there a "rule of thumb" on how many minutes to set the timer? :driving:

Mine is built into my alarm, and goes for 2 minutes.....that's way more than enough for any driving i think since our turbos are water and oil cooled.

Typically, 30 seconds and 2-3 minutes after a hard run.

I'm running mine for 1:30 all the time .... once I get the spedo hookup fixed ... it will run at 1:00 with variable adjustment depending on driving style.

how difficult is it to install a turbo timer, can it be done by me? or is there a bunch of tech stuff?

Remove steering wheel shroud, unplug factory harness, plug in adapter harness, ground TT, plug in TT, mount TT, replace steering wheel shroud, done. (Parking brake, speedo wire or any other accessories are optional.)

I got the Apexi TT. Like the Blitz, it calculates how long the engine needs to stay on depending on how hard the car is run. It also monitors a/f ratio, voltage, and o2.....and only cost $80.
