FREE Dyno day on July 23rd!!! (30 cars limit)

Hey guys,

We are holding a FREE dyno day (Evo only) for all Norcalevo members so as to put a rest to any questions regarding the accuracy and calibration of our dyno. The date will be July 23rd from 10am till done with a 30 cars limit, first come first serve. All Evos are welcome to attend regardless of its setup and tune. Furthermore, we would like to invite any Evo shop cars to our dyno to demonstrate the hidden 4G63 power.

Bozz’s Cusco Evo holds the current highest WHP Evo record and maybe we will have a challenger this time?

Last but not least, we will have a FREE BBQ provided so no one will starve that day. :D

The only requirement is we will be posting all Evo's dyno graph on that day.

Also can we get a volunteer to operate the dyno for us, I will show the person how to do so but we would like someone impartial to handle the dyno for the day so all we are doing is strapping cars and driving them, all data input and printing of graphs will be handled that person.

People that signup first will have priority, and if they miss it, then people on standby will take that spot until the complete list is done, then, take the people on standby.

so all in all, its ALL ABOUT how hot the girl is with you AND your strive for being the best at that particular point and time--regardless of consequence--not money.

actually with just a base run with your car to start off is a good idea since you know where your hp level is gonna starting at.and youll know also if the mods that you added on the car helped it or not 8)

Nice seeing everyone today. I was actually the first one to get there this morning. I got there at 8:40am. Shortly after 9am, a lot of cars started showing up!

These were my dyno results:
1st pull - 253.7whp @ 6750rpm, 241.6wtq @ 4000rpm
2nd pull - 254.8whp @ 6500rpm, 244.9wtq @ 4000rpm
3rd pull - 251.4whp @ 6500rpm, 241.1wtq @ 4000rpm

AFR's were a steady 11.4 to redline

Mods:
HK$ downpipe & cat-back, DIY ground kit, JDM MR DV, WORKS P2 Flash, Helix HFC, Helix IC pipes, WORKS drop-in filter, 10.5 hotside, minor port-work gasket matching exhaust components

That was the most evos I have ever seen in one place. It was a great event.

My top pull was:

375 HP
340 TQ

Very smooth curve, torque and HP were on top of each other all the way until 340 with a nice 11.1 AFR

i think it was the top run of the day.

Holy crap it was hot today. Huge thanks to GruppeS for dealing with that heat and putting this on.

I was down 13whp and 23wtq from when I tuned my car last time on the dyno, I had richened up my AFC because of the summer weather, looks like I richened it up too much. :P

I had it tuned to 11.4 AFR in the midrange and 11.0 up top last time.

This time? A sweet 10.8 AFR in the midrange and 10.3 up top. hahaha, no wonder I was so down on power.

Thanks for coming out today! :D

I would like to give big thumb up to our dyno operators (Dev, Tommy, Mike) for baking themselves in 120+ degrees to dyno all 31 Evos today!!! It was an incredible experience seeing all these Evo owners gathering in one place. Altho there was a long wait for some ppl, I hope everyone had fun today and would like to thank all of you again for coming out.

I think the top dog today is PROBABLY Bill, aka pstevo8, with 375 hp running Alky inj custom tuned by Big Al! 8)

chris is pretty awesome too, somehow bribing Pete for a custom tune to the order of 280 without many mods. :shock:

This was the 1st meet I attended. Cool folks n phat rides. It was tight seeing all these evos in one place n all of em hooked up. I had to leave at around 3 so I never knew who put down the most on the dyno. The best one up until I left was the white evo with the alky injection putting down 378. Who's evo is that? Did anyone top his numbers?

Btw, I'd like to give a shout out to Gruppe-s for putting down together a great meet with good food and service to us folks in this scorching heat.

Cal, thanks for hookin me up with some parts--excellent customer first attitude. Almost everyone was picking up a part or two during the meet. I ended up buying JDM MR heads n tails. Hehe... all the peer pressure!!! Hahaha...

Probably higher dyno temps, look how much smoother the curves are by getting rid of the restrictive parts... also want to make note that it was 95+ in the shop or higher... i was run at 1:20 pm :( I feel even worse for the people who ran after me.

Made a quick comparison chart. It's close but not fully accurate. As you can see the Spoolup is quicker, as well as High end power has increased, would be nice if the temps were 20 degrees cooler during the dyno. I am happy with the results though. Blue is New HP not TQ :lol:

Are you running 91 ?

I am running 91 piss gas, and my boost did hit the 30psi levels, maybe from the heat. I wish I could have gone first thing in the morning to see the difference the heat would have mad. Cal said it would of easily hit 400 in the cooler temps.

If my tank wasn't full, I would thrown in some c-16 for a couple of the runs, to see what that would of done.

I stand by the alky 100 percent, and I think it impressed a few people that day.

Couple questions:

1. Wilson, unless you want to rebuild your engine yet again, I would get that thing retuned stat, unless I am mistaken, I see 12.0 AFR's in the midrange going to 11.9 in the top end. That thing is going to go kablooie if that is on 91 octane.

2. How come I am seeing, in most of the Works P2 graphs, a dip in torque around 4500? Is that the way the P2 controls boost?

3. Damn I wish I wouldn't have richened up my tune, I would had been at the top of the no-internals list. :P :?

4. Michael B, richen your shizzile up, 12.3 AFR at 5400rpms? :shock:

just noticed my run and thats what happens when my AFC cuts out.. i have an issue with it turning off or not even turning on when i turn on the car.. i have to get a new one. but everything is fine.. i have a different dyno run that you can see its not running lean at all and i made more power too.. i had a feeling that it didnt turn on when it was on the dyno.. ill post the better result later..

We used the 3rd run from everyone it was just easier to manage that way for the guys handing you the sheets and putting them into file for the dyno page Gary created.

The crew at Gruppe-S, you guys are awesome! Thanks for the running the dyno all day long for us in the scorching heat!

On the first run, I got 253 max HP @6500 and 237 max TQ @4250. The 2nd and last runs keep getting worse because of the heat. The run on the Gruppe-S page is the 2nd run.
