Not sure when everyone is leaving to go, but i am leaving on friday after work. I figured I would spend some time in SoCal, get annoyed by the heat but get to see all the local sites with all the SoCalEvo crew.

well they said its going to be one of the biggest evo meets this year...even super street editors are coming(i know i know they are the greatest) hope it turns out good...noone else going??

That was huge. 154 Evos, lots of sun (and sunburns), cool parts were raffled, a JDM FD RX7 had it's backend smashed by a tractor trailer, SuperStreet editors did make it there as did a few Mitsubishi design guys and even our favorite Motortrend Magazine editor, a convoy of 20 Evos was pulled over by the CHP, an Evo was totalled on the way to the meet and we got to see a new definition of urban sprawl.

I've got some pics, now I just need to find the time to resize and post.

Evo IX on the HKS Dynojet dyno. A stock Evo IX ended up dynoing at 243whp.

More Evo IX shots. The black chromed lights are much cooler than the Altezzas on the Evo VIII. I asked the Mitsu guys about the floor mats for the Evo IX, to see if they were going to have "Evolution IX" since the GSR says "Evolution VIII" on it's floor mats. Sadly, they didn't know if the IX would be say "Evolution IX" or just plain old Evolution. The IX in this shot had a leather 6 speed shift knob, but this won't be in the production MRs. Anyhow, the USDM IX MRs will finally have an MR badge now that Japan no longer has an MR model (it's now called the GT). Rumor is that Japan was fighting with the US over having an MR badge since Japan does not view the Evo VIII MR as a true "MR" due to lack of AYC. Lastly, the Evolution IX will have optional aero kit parts that were designed here in the US for the Evo IX. They didn't have any to show off unfortunately.

MIVEC is supposed to be very seamless and allows for a much broader power delivery, as opposed to the very peaky power delivery in the VIII.

Evos were queued down the street. Everytime it looked as if it was going to clear up, more Evos would show and the line would start all over again.

None that I took. When we were leaving the meet, we saw it on the side of the road with the rear passenger side wheel sticking way out.
