comparison shopping. Hahhahaah that is true tho but better to find out how much it'll break the bank before hand then get slapped with a heavy bill.... can't remember where it happened but some big shot when to a strip club in New York, got drunk, passed out and ended up with a $300,000 tab... ouch!

More dumb questions. I was just wondering what it would cost for the entire engine to just appear under my hood. :) I'm only asking because the insurance guy was telling me that if my engine is damaged, it would cost so much that they would just total my car. But *if* it didn't cost a whole lot, maybe I could end up getting this engine instead. :D

Matz,

Labor to drop in the motor is $1500 and I would recommend you to change your clutch along with it since everything is out in the open.

Thanks,
Tom

is that 2700.00 for the short block ? no need for a core ??
Also are you guys running a 4g63 block or a 4g64 (galant) bottom end ?

Haha...core charge is gonna be $1500. I wish there's no core charge!

We are using 4g63 block.

So then total cost of everything, including labor, is about $6000?

Who's crank, piston, and rods are you guys using if you are using the 4G63 block? What's the compression ration on the piston? Do the piston slap when cold like JE's? High silicone or low silicone piston? Are the piston wrist pin offset to help with the stroker? If so how much. And do you offer a headgasket to go with the bottom end?

Please tell me more, i'm really interested.

Stock Evo,

Considering your avatar and the way you describe the color of your truck, is this just your sense of humour, or the way you truly view the world? Just curious.

What is the bore size?

Looks pretty nice.

Is this the same build that you guys recently did for a lucky blue evo who happened to have a blown engine to justify this with :)

I'd like to know as well.....what brand pistons, rods, who blueprinted and balanced? Did you guys build the engine at your facility? Just curious, and yes, it look really nice.

Hey fellow Evo'ers...

The new motor is finally broken in, and I have started to boost the car a bit, although I had to leave for awhile, so I'll supplement this e-mail with an update next week. Thanks to Works, I have dialed in the EcuTek to work with the stock turbo with the 2.3 liter and my initial impressions are AWESOME. Beautiful bottom end torque, excellent top-end power as well... the old butt dyno tells me 40+ whp and the same in torque. My initial mods can be found here: http://www.olisim.com/evo and I will update that page in the next few weeks as well.

Thanks Gruppe-S (Tom and Mike) - Thanks Works (Pete and Tyler) and last but not least Thanks to Lance, Jay and Abe for putting the pieces back together…

I will be bringing the car to Gruppe-S so that Mike can get some numbers out of it, and of course will post the results here.

Cheers and over and out from Mexico
