Hello! I went down and picked up the car yesterday night. Apex Silver Lancer Evolution 8 GSR. Really good dealership experience. San Rafael Mitsubishi pretty much specializes in Evos. They actually have their own tuning department with a AWD dyno. While we were doing the paperwork Chris was showing us their project Evos and pictures of the owner doing rallying. They also beat the best price I negotiated with another dealership and had 3 silver Evos in stock.

I was really on the fence about buying this car since the Evo 9 is around the corner but what sold me is the 0% financing and the dealers selling the cars way below MSRP to clear them out before the 9 arrives. I ended up paying 200 over invoice with 0% for 5 years.

I've had a lot of project cars in the past but I can really only afford 1 car so I decided instead of having a tuned out nearly unstreetable ride, to have a fast car from the factory with a warranty and not do much in terms of modifications.

My previous car was a SR20DET powered 240SX. It was fast and smoking an Evo was never a problem - now I can't talk sh!t any more, I own one! :) The hassle of owning an engine swapped and tuned car in California was too much for me and the car is up for sale. Before then I had a Civic Si which was pretty moded as well. All my cars are daily drivers and weekend track cars. I occasionally help instruct at HPDE events at Thunderhill and Laguna Seca. So I went from FWD to RWD to AWD.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Welcome to NCE and congrats on the Evo! And good luck keeping that baby stock. I have an AS as well, and said I'd never mod it because it was more power than I have ever had in a car. Well... that lasted about 2 weeks.

I totally know how you feel. I've never been able to keep a car stock.. in the case of the 240SX, I changed the whole motor! But this time I need to keep it sane. Come on, its a 4 door sedan, right?

Just reading the vendor specials with SALE! SPECIAL! GROUP BUY! is a bad thing. Got to stop reading...

Here's some pics of the old car. Took me a while to piece together the OEM aero kit.

No.. that is not me. I rarely go near Chinatown, roads there are horrible.
